Devlog #11 : Time to skate in the Alley!

Hey everyone! Welcome to our final devlog (for now) of SKalley!

Now that the polish sprint has concluded, we are delighted to share that our game is ready for official release!
What better way to celebrate than with an epic trailer, check it out?

Art
An extra decal has been added on the readyUpZone to clarify that players need to stand in there in order to start the game. This will avoid confusion of what to do.

New logo
We have reworked our old existing one with a new logo that will suit the general theme of the game more! We hope you like it too and gives a striking image that will remain in your memories!

Spraycan visual effects
The spraycan powerup felt a bit hard to know how long the effect lasted, so we gave it the visual feedback that it so rightfully needed, now you can also visually see in effect!

Programming
We did not add any new features as we were only focusing on fine-tuning and balancing our game's difficulty to a sweet spot.

One notable change is that the deathzone now speeds up indefinitely after some time, making it for a more intense and exhilarating finale!

Besides that, we spent fixing some smaller bugs that were still present or overlooked last time such as:
- Baseball bat only stunning one player max
- The winning player not properly set back to the starting zone
- Spray can have infinite duration if you die while using it

We were quite happy with such an low amount of bugs, and pray that none will be discovered anymore!

Sound
Some final additions audio-wise, are some Highway ambient background noises to enhance the feeling of a busy driveway.
The oilspill also has subtle feedback of skating on it. Lastly the sound for cancelling the countdown has been updated/added

Aside from these additions to our game, we also cooked up a nice soundtrack for our game's trailer which you might have seen by now!

Other
Itch.io
As you certainly have noticed by now, the Itch page has gotten a glow-up.

Updating the banner and background to align with the game's theme enhances the overall experience while immersing players in the story and setting the mood for the gameplay of SKalley.

Thank you!

Finally, we want to thank everyone who has helped us finalize this game project. Whether it was playtesting the game, giving feedback or sharing with it friends. We have had a blast making this game for you and we hope you enjoy the final result. THANK YOU FOR JOINING US ON OUR JOURNEY!
